Designing and Preparing a Remote Control Car
Class: VII
Subject: Science
Activity: Model Making – Remote Control Car
Method: Hands-on learning and experiential activity
Introduction
The Class 7 students actively participated in a Science Club activity in which they prepared a remote control car model. The activity provided an opportunity for students to explore the basic principles of science and technology through practical learning.
Aim
To encourage students to understand the basic working principles of a remote control car and develop creativity, problem-solving and technical skills.
Materials Required
- Remote control car components
- Wheels and motors
- Battery
- Connecting wires
- Remote control unit
- Suitable materials for assembling the car
Procedure
1. Students were introduced to the basic components of a remote control car.
2. They observed the different parts and discussed their functions.
3. With guidance, students assembled the components to prepare the car model.
4. They explored how the motor, battery and remote control system work together.
5. Students tested the car's movement and observed how it responded to the remote control.
Observation
Students observed that the car moved in different directions according to the commands given through the remote control. They understood that electrical energy from the battery helps the motor produce movement.
Learning Outcomes
Through this activity, students:
Identified the basic components of a remote control car.
Understood the role of batteries and motors in producing movement.
Developed practical skills through model preparation.
Improved creativity, teamwork and problem-solving abilities.
Explored the application of science and technology in everyday life.
Conclusion
The activity was an engaging and interactive learning experience for the students. It encouraged them to explore the practical applications of science and technology and helped them develop an interest in robotics, engineering and innovation.
